Freeride Mekka Saalbach Hinterglemm
Freeriding means more than simply leaving your tracks in the snow. Freeriding means feeling freedom at the sound of the snow crunching beneath your skis. Freeriding makes your body fill with adrenaline as soon as you see the slope that you are about to ski down. And it also means feeling happy after doing the perfect run. Since we merged with the adjacent Tyrolean ski area Fieberbrunn, the Skicircus has become a true mecca for freeriding. Countless ski routes unite with the breathtaking scenery of the Kitzbühel Alps.
Freeride routes:
Freeride routes are well signposted runs which can partly be found off the slopes. But also special ski slopes are sometimes marked as freeride routes as they do not get prepared any more after fresh snowfall.
Avalanche transceiver search fields:
You can find avalanche transceiver search fields for practising with your own avalanche transceiver at the peak of Schattberg and at the Zillstatt lift. You have to activate up to four of the six buried transmitters in the search field and track and probe them within a given period of time.
Check points:
At the Streuböden valley station, freeriders can access a check point with the avalanche warning system LO.LA*, information material and overview maps to plan trips. Further check points are being planned for the entire ski area.
